With over 40 years of experience interpreting and using numbers to transform business performance, Andy ventured into the dental sector over a decade ago, recognising a gap in business know-how among practice owners. He founded Spot On Business Planning in 2008 with a mission to transform underperforming practices and take well-performing practices to new levels. He has successfully built and nurtured thriving businesses, navigating every permutation of business structure imaginable, from missed opportunities to private practices, specialists, sole traders and partnerships. SOBP's proven methodology, refined over a long period of time, is testament to Andy’s expertise and commitment to excellence. SOBP’s track record speaks for itself, with a high retention rate among clients who have experienced first-hand the transformative power of our strategies. Due to Andy’s vision, dental industry professionals know SOBP as the go-to business for profitable growth and strategic planning.

Donald is a highly motivated and experienced IT Manager. He has over 20 years of IT experience and technical knowhow delivering business solutions. A strong collaborator with excellent communication and natural presentation skills and a flexible attitude, he has extensive experience in the corporate IT world with expertise in enterprise CRM systems. We welcomed Donald to our team in April 2020. As a former Microsoft engineer and trainer, he was responsible for training engineers on Microsoft servers and systems. As Principal of Education at Avolin he had responsibility for the creation of training and marketing video libraries for multiple product lines. He always strives to make a difference and provide value to each and every one of our clients.

Anne-Marie was originally introduced to Spot On Business Planning over a decade ago as a client whilst managing her husband’s dental practice. Today, she is a key member of Spot On Business Planning with responsibility for leading our ever-expanding team and realising our clients’ personal and business growth. Her financial modelling skills are incomparable and it is how she interprets the numbers to assist in determining strategy that make her such a unique and valued asset. Anne-Marie’s breadth of skill, knowledge and experience have been amassed over a career spanning corporate IT training and senior business management and she is instrumental in driving client profitability and delivering an exceptional service. Her dedication to the role, unwavering commitment to our clients and strong work ethics mean SOBP is extremely fortunate to have her at the helm.

Number cruncher extraordinaire Kendal Ramsdale has been with Spot On Business Planning over 10 years and has watched it grow and develop into an amazing business. Passionate about numbers, she looks after the financial side of things, analysing profit and loss figures in our highly sought-after Omega spreadsheet. Kendal is CIMA qualified and works very methodically, with great attention to detail.

Shannon's career in dentistry began as a dental nurse in a busy, seven surgery practice. Due to progression, hard work and dedication, she was promoted to practice manager. Shannon has experience working in both NHS, specialist and private practices and has managed teams across multiple sites. She competed her Level 5 in Leadership and Management qualification in 2019 with Progress to Excellence. Shannon is client focused and dedicated, with excellent organisational skills and a passion for dentistry.

Having previously worked as a production accountant for an international theatrical producer, Sophia joined the Spot On Business Planning team in February 2020 as an accounting technician to assist in the inputting and analysis of clients’ financial information. She builds trusting working relationships with clients, continuing to expand her understanding of both the dental and financial worlds, and feels proud to be part of such a dedicated and supportive team.

Jo has been in the dental industry since 2002 when she became a dental nurse straight from school. She gained valuable experience in mixed NHS/private, general practice, orthodontics, implants and sedation. Jo has worked in the dental education environment supporting dental hygiene therapy students at Portsmouth Dental Academy. She later joined the Royal Air Force and served for 9 years, first as a dental nurse, progressing to practice manager. When she left the RAF she continued her role as a PM in independent and corporate practices. She became part of the Spot On Business Planning team in 2019 and now dedicates her time to our group clients. Jo is a diligent, thorough, considerate business analyst who always goes the extra mile, making her a firm favourite with clients and colleagues alike.

Olu holds an honours degree and a post-graduate degree in accounting and finance. A self-motivated and enthusiastic accountant, she is MAAT qualified, a qualified bookkeeper and an ACCA finalist with exceptional technical and fundamental analytical skill sets. She has in-depth experience and hands-on knowledge in using various accounting software packages. She is proactive, ambitious, focused and is an adaptive individual with proven records of accomplishment of leadership and outstanding client relationships, and management, complemented by excellent communication skills. She has worked in industries and in accounting practices.

Katie’s career in dentistry began in 2018 as a trainee dental nurse in a mixed practice in Hampshire. Since then she has had experience in both NHS and private, independent and corporate dental practices. After qualifying Katie progressed to managing a team of nurses in Berkshire. Later, she became area head nurse for Middlesex, Hampshire and Surrey with mydentist, taking control of the training needs for a large group of nurses and helping with their dental nursing exams. Katie joined Spot On Business Planning in 2021 and it is her exceptional organisational skills and industry experience that makes her such an important member of the SOBP accounting technicians' team.

Lydia started her career in dentistry in 2014 as a dental receptionist in a private dental practice. She quickly developed her dental knowledge and took on the treatment coordinator role. After only a few short years she was promoted to practice manager. She was tasked with taking control of all aspects of the practice including finances and recruitment. Lydia joined the Spot On Business Planning team in 2024 and is excited to put her clinical and non-clinical knowledge to great use for our clients.

Having previously worked in the finance department for food trading company for 5 years, Marta was welcomed to the Spot On Business Planning team in 2023. She is a skilled and thorough accounting technician who is currently completing the final level of her professional qualifications with AAT, the Association of Accounting Technicians. Marta is a very motivated member of our team, who enjoys new challenges and expanding her knowledge.

Rebecca started her career in dentistry in early 2009 as a 17-year-old trainee dental nurse, achieving her National Certificate the following year.

A very ambitious, organised and highly motivated person, Rebecca worked her way up to practice coordinator in 2014 in a dual site for Bupa, then became a CQC-registered practice manager in 2017 for Portman from the start of acquisition, successfully transitioning the team during the integration period.

During her career she has worked in mixed dental practices with large NHS contracts where she has gained extensive knowledge of the NHS, including supporting and nursing with foundation dentists in their vocational training year and mentoring trainee dental nurses. She has also gained valuable experience working for an independent practice and corporate.

Rebecca is passionate about dentistry and all aspects of running a dental business. As a practice manager she was a team orientated leader with a kind, empathetic approach who always strived to develop and motivate the team to their highest potential with a view to delivering exceptional patient care.

We were delighted to welcome Rebecca to the Spot On Business Planning team in June 2024 and her drive, innovation and wealth of knowledge in the dental industry is a huge support to our clients and the continuing growth of their dental practices.

Having worked in dentistry since 2014, Alex qualified as a dental nurse in 2016 and gained her Diploma from the NEBDN. After a few years working as a dental nurse in various practices in the South West, she felt ready to pursue a new direction and became a treatment co-ordinator. From 2020-2022, she successfully implemented the role in a mixed dental practice, setting up operational systems and liaising with patients, associates and specialists. In 2022 Alex also achieved her Dental Radiography Diploma. After a very successful two years as a TCO, where amongst other accomplishments, she took the principal dentist from a Bronze Invisalign Provider to Gold II within a year, she was ready to face another new challenge! The knowledge she gained clinically and non-clinically in the dental industry makes her a skilled and understanding business analyst.

Melissa started her career at 16 years old training as a dental nurse, becoming qualified two years later. She spent 12 years in the industry progressing to head nurse, and helping other trainees through their qualifications. Melissa then decided to change her career path, spending five years as an accounting assistant. She has an AAT Level 2 qualification and is hoping to complete levels 3 and 4 in the future. Her experience in both the dental industry and as an accounting technician mean she is a real asset to the SOBP business analyst team and her clients.

Coeli joined the Spot On Business Planning team in early 2024. She’s responsible for building awareness for the SOBP brands and facilitating relationships with our partners. Coeli has over 4 years of B2B and B2C experience working in agencies, SMEs and start-ups across various industries including data, technology and education. Her specialities include digital marketing, email marketing, social media, content creation and campaign development. She's a purpose-driven marketer with a passion for helping businesses understand their mission and creating campaigns that are authentic, effective and make a positive impact. With experience working every part of the marketing mix, she brings a whole heap of creativity and expertise to SOBP.

Robyn started out as a trainee dental nurse in 2012 with NHS Grampian working in general dental clinics and Aberdeen Dental School and Maxillofacial Department for over two years, gaining different skills and experience. In 2014 she achieved her NEBDN dental nursing diploma and from then until November 2022 she worked in a mixed NHS/private practice working her way up to head nurse. During this time she completed a course in conscious sedation in 2016 with SAAD, a dental charity at the forefront of postgraduate teaching of sedation techniques in dentistry. Then in 2017 Robyn qualified as a Childsmile nurse, the training of which training was delivered by NHS Education Scotland. Robyn joined Spot On Business Planning in late 2022 and has proved herself to be a dedicated, skilled business analyst who is always happy to help her clients.

Gemma has a wealth of experience in the dental industry having started her career as a trainee dental nurse back in 2006. Once qualified she swiftly achieved a dental radiology qualification whilst working in a busy 6-surgery NHS practice alongside oral surgeons and orthodontists. During her career Gemma gained valued experience in a mixture of practices based in Norfolk. Before joining Spot On Business Planning in August 2023 as a business analyst she was the practice manager at a fully private practice in Norwich where she also successfully developed the treatment coordinator role and social media platforms. Gemma is a hardworking, motivated and friendly member of the SOBP team who is always keen to develop her existing skills and learn new ones. Her dental background means she fully understands the daily challenges faced by our clients and their practice managers, who welcome her years of practical experience and numerable skills.

Vicki has been a freelance graphic designer and marketing executive since 2009 and before that was a regional newspaper editor, sub editor and reporter for 14 or so years. During her many years working with Spot On Business Planning she has enjoyed watching the business flourish and the team expand. She assists our dental clients and strategic business partners in communicating their services successfully through a variety of mediums including spoken and written, print and digital. Working behind the scenes, Vicki most certainly has our clients’ backs and strives to create eye-catching designs that have the desired effect of boosting their profiles, sales and financial success.

After her talents were spotted in the dental practice setting, Karolina Rusnak joined the team in 2018 and became manager of our accounting technicians in early 2022 and operations manager in 2024. Karolina knows the dental industry inside out having qualified as a dental nurse in 2012 and progressing through the ranks to clinical team leader and practice manager.

Kirsty has more than 13 years’ experience in customer-focused environments. She is experienced in sales and administration and has excellent IT, communication and organisational skills. She joined the SOBP team in early 2023 and is responsible for managing our diary and arranging zoom meetings. Client interaction and engagement is undertaken according to the diary, so this is a pivotal role to ensure the smooth running of the business and our clients’ journeys with us. Kirsty is no stranger to strategic planning and problem solving within the dental field as she was previously a practice transitions specialist for one of the largest dental practice brokers in the UK. There she maintained and developed client relationships by assisting practice transitions, optimising the quality of service, business growth and client satisfaction, making her an asset to our team.

Vikki was one of the founding members of Spot On Business Planning and brings a wealth of marketing, operational and management experience to our team. She has had decades of corporate experience within marketing, purchasing, IT projects and telesales senior management roles, and has managed hundreds of people. She brings expertise in operational and people management, strategic and tactical marketing, and having successfully transformed and grown her own dental practice she brings practical experience of having applied her vast knowledge within the dental environment. Vikki is extremely hard working and makes it her mission to guide, support and develop our clients and their teams in whatever way she can.

Teresa has over 20 years’ experience in sales management, marketing and business development, gained via high street retail, luxury products and the sports automotive sector. Since 2016 she has focused her knowledge and expertise within the dental sector, in private referral and corporate practices, introducing new treatments, increasing revenue and treatment coordinator services. Her passion and expertise lie in understanding and developing opportunities to promote practices and to utilise one of their best assets - namely their teams. With her approachable and supportive manner, Teresa’s aim is to ensure that our clients develop a dental practice and brand to be proud of, exceeding their patients’ expectations in the process.
